Thank you to all the people who have taken the
time to visit this site, buy Reunion and learn more
about our dear sister, Virginia, and how much she
valued the work of everyone at the IMBCR. It is
hard to believe that today is the one year
anniversary of her passing, we miss her terribly. We believe that helping to raise funds and awareness is one of the most tangible ways we can honor her life and legacy. Thank you for helping us in this quest.
Sincerely, Karen MacLean Blancq

Today commemorates the 1 year anniversary of Virginia's passing. Though it marks a tremendously sad event for all of us that were close to her, it also is a reminder of the important work she wanted all of us to continue.
We are deeply appreciative of the outpouring of support for the Reunion project from so many people from so many places. Over the last few months news articles and good wishes have come from Seattle to Tampa and Washington DC to San Diego. Many of you have also been able to support the project financially, and we are now approaching $100,000 in funds raised for IMBCR.
I know Virginia would be very proud of what we have accomplished thus far, but would also be pushing us to do even more. Please help us continue to bring hope to others by increasing awareness for REUNION and making whatever financial contribution you can.
Cheers,
Alan & Pete

I am a patient of Dr. Berenson's and, in fact, was at his clinic yesterday to get some mild chemo. I will be heading over to BevMo tomorrow to get some Reunion Beer. [3/8/2025] |
I had a chance to taste the Reunion beer at the Celebrator party this past Sunday. Great job on the beer! Very drinkable, but also a unique taste profile from the rye & caraway. Looking forward to buying in the stores soon. Good luck! [2/20/2008] |
While it was a different form, I lost my mother to cancer a few years back and I continue to miss her with all my heart. So I can relate to how hard this disease hits, not only the person diagnosed.. but those close to them as well.
Having just found the website, would like to commend you for coming up with the idea, as it's truly an admirable one.
I hope the family and friends of Virginia have held up ok and that they will continue to do so.
Keep up the fight, some day cancer in all it's forms will be cured... I fully believe it with all my heart. [2/19/2008] |
My boyfriend, my brother, and the guitarist in my band are all home-brewers, so beer is quite a big part of my life. My boyfriend noticed this beer in the aisle at Top's in Tempe, AZ just the other day so I had to buy one. My father passed away in November from complications of Multiple Myeloma, so seeing this special brew made to support research for a cure was a very welcome surprise. [2/3/2025] |
I shared the news of Reunion with my friend who has just recently been diagnosed with myeloma; he said it gave him a "positive jolt" to know that others were investing so much of themselves into the fight against this particularly lethal from of cancer.
Always the jester, my friend wanted to know if this brew was a cure or just a fundraiser.
Thanks to all of the people behind this. I really enjoyed the ale you put out last year, but I will be enjoying this year's reunion with a great deal more gratitude and appreciation.
Cheers,
